JRT RDF Extensions For Event Descriptions

We use RDF/RSS feeds to describe events that are going to happen at the theatre.

So that other sites can intelligently reuse our event information from the RDF/RSS feed we add some additional information within our own jrtev (JRT Event) namespace.

There are currently two tags within this namespace. The tags all apply to items within the feed.

The information could possibly have been handled using a combination of hcalendar and another microformat, but we did not appear to be handle the repeating sets of information using those formats, hence our need to re-invent this particular wheel.

Tags

price

The price tag contains pricing information for an event. This is freeform text. As we are in the UK this normally includes pound signs, which may be appropriately escaped for the character set. There may be zero or one price tags per item.

perfstart

The perfstart tag contains the start date and time of an event. The date time information should be a valid ISO8601 timestamp, including timezone information. There may be one or more perfstart tags per item (one for each performance).

Please note that we also export International Venue and Event Standard (IVES) event information XML schema - this is the best way to get event information from us on an ongoing basis, and we would strongly recommend it over the RDF/RSS feeds for serious use.
