A Whodunnit Comedy Musical - UK Youth Premiere

Flying Ducks Youth Theatre

14 April to 16 April

The scene is set in Boston Massachusetts 1959. Jessica Cranshaw, the wholly untalented leading lady of the new musical Robbin Hood, collapses after the final curtain of the opening night, later to be pronounced dead. The question Lt. Frank Cioffi of the Boston Police Department needs to answer is WHO-DUNNIT?!

Underpaid and overworked, any one of the cast and crew of the critically reviewed show, Robbin Hood, may be considered a suspect. How did Christopher Belling, the show's flamboyant director, get them to agree to perform?

Could the murderer be Carmen Berstein, the tough, ruthless co-producer, needing to rid the show of the talentless leading lady and save the show? Or her philandering husband, Sidney Bernstein, eager to give his step-daughter Bambi a boost into the lime-light?

Does too-good-to-be-true Niki Harris, Jessica's understudy, want to leap into the leading role? Is her blossoming romance with Lt. Cioffi a way to put him off the trail?

Perhaps it is one of the divorced songwriting team of Aaron Fox and Georgia Hendricks, each having their own reasons for Georgia to be cast as the lead?

After another murder is discovered, the race is on for Lt. Cioffi to solve the case and ensure there is a cast left to re-open the show!

Unforgettable songs and a storyline to keep you guessing up until the final scene make this a must-see show.

Half A Sixpence

Flying Ducks Youth Theatre

25 March to 27 March

Flying Ducks prove time and time again that they enjoy a challenge and this year is no exception. This comical love story, made famous by the British musical film of 1967, starring Tommy Steele, has recently enjoyed a successful professional tour starring Gary Wilmot in the lead role of Arthur Kipps. It is really quite something that our very own Flying Ducks Youth Theatre will perform the first amateur production of this famous musical with Sam Whyte playing the lead at the Joseph Rowntree Theatre.

The story of orphan Arthur Kipps, who lives and works with other apprentices for the cruel draper, Mr. Shalford, is quite endearing. Kipps learns that he inherits a fortune and tries to join the upper classes, getting engaged to the wealthy Helen Walsingham. Soon, he realises that his true love is his childhood sweetheart, Ann, and that money really cannot buy love. Thank goodness the story has a happy ending!

Don't miss the Flying Ducks production of one of the world's best-loved hit musicals, featuring favourite songs such as Flash Bang Wallop, If the Rains Got to Fall and of course Half A Sixpence. It will be a show for all the family to enjoy.

A tale about daring to be different, our story starts with Troy, the school basketball star and Gabriella, possibly the cleverest girl around in a very unfamiliar situation. Having been thrown together in a karaoke contest whilst on a New Year’s Holiday they both realise that they have another growing interest – not just in the singing but in each other... So when Gabriella’s mother gets a transfer to the same area as Troy and Gabriella starts at the same High School it looks like our two heroes can re-unite and live happily ever after – or maybe not!

In step their well meaning friends Chad and Taylor and not so well meaning school drama divas: Sharpay and Ryan who are not so keen on the amount of time Troy and Gabriella are spending together rehearsing for their audition in the school musical or the effect it seems to be having on the rest of the school.

Will our two budding stars find a way to overcome the obstacles placed in front of them and make everyone realise that they really are All In This Together?
